KAYSVILLE, Utah — A Utah police department is experiencing a unique problem as a result of the growing concerns over the coronavirus: Someone appears to be is stealing their toilet paper.
"We received a complaint in our lobby that consistently the men’s restroom was devoid of toilet paper,” Kaysville Police Officer Joshua Danielson told KSL. “And we have someone who is employed to actually stock that, and it shouldn’t be running out so quickly, we would assume.”
Danielson told KSL he’s not sure of the thief’s motivations, but that the missing toilet paper nationwide are reporting empty shelves as customers stock up on supplies in response to the coronavirus.
In a Facebook post, the department urged citizens to keep the department’s employees in mind and asked them to “go back to the days of obsessing over power poles.”
Later that day, police tweeted a local resident came by to donate a half-dozen rolls for the station, saying, “You need this more than I do.”
